So I’ve been using the same Kent’s beard comb for a few years now (Amazon Link) and I decided I wanted to try something else out that was a little more compact and “travel sized.”
I did some searching on Amazon and came across this folding comb from Striking Viking. You can check it out here on Amazon. The reviews all looked pretty good and the price was reasonable so I figured, why not?
Well there’s a reason it has 4.5 out of 5 stars. It’s a pretty sweet beard comb.
Made out of 100% sandalwood with smooth rounded teeth, this folding beard comb does exactly what it is advertised to do. It combs your beard in a sharp, compact, and well made form factor. It’s also not limited to your beard, you can use it in your hair on your head as well (assuming you don’t have it covered in beard oil and don’t want to get your hair covered in oil)
I’ve been using this for a few days now and I love the folding action. It protects the teeth of the comb and also just gives the comb a good look. I have had the comb get caught in my beard once or twice, but that’s not a big deal. The teeth are a little closer together than on my Kent’s beard comb, but I think they are still far enough apart for beards that are thick and curly. You just might have to take it slower running it through your beard compared to a comb that has really large, spaced out teeth. Overall the quality is great. I like the wood finish and it just feels like a good comb and doesn’t feel like it’s going to break down on me.
I would definitely recommend this beard comb if you are looking for something that is compact and easy to use. Plus it’s a good bang for your buck. And if you don’t like it, Striking Viking offers hassle free returns within 30 days if you think the product doesn’t perform as advertised.
If you don’t own a beard comb, I would highly recommend you get one, as it really helps keep your beard in order throughout the day and they do a great job at spreading oils and balms evenly throughout your beard.
